Day 4

In order to get this book drive in full swing, we understand that it is vital to have a connection with a local Children’s hospital. Our plan is to gather fun books that will make the waiting room a bit more bearable for these kids. This book drive will be one of our minor projects (like Joanne said) that will allow us to help others, yet still provide us with enough time to complete our school work, and plan our final fundraising event. In order to allow our community to participate in this spectacular opportunity, we will establish connections with local hospitals, and religious centers. These religious centers will act as a mediator for this book drive, by creating areas where individuals can drop off their donations. In order to make sure this event is a success we will try our hardest to make posters, signs, and announcements that will make others aware of this great opportunity to give back to the community.

Day 3

School seems to take up all of our time these days (from homework to studying to papers).  Just like yesterday we were only able to do a minimum of two hours of planning for our first project but we did manage create a procedure to how we will go about doing our first book drive. Our smaller projects should be sweet and simple and give us enough leeway to devote enough time to school. With this extra time expectantly senior year will not be as stressful.
This book drive will be done as I mentioned last time in two weeks latest. The idea we came up with is giving people the choice of either giving the books to us to give to a particular hospital or giving the particular hospital the books themselves but in our name. Of course the first thing we should do is call the hospital of our choice (we still have not decided on a hospital) and let them know what we are planning. We are hoping that whatever hospital we choose will be open to the idea of book donations (for the pediatric department) . After a hospital is found our group will create flyers and each of us will pass out flyers at different locations such as our churches, mosques, and schools. With enough awareness of  the project we expect that the number of book donations would be a nice substantial number. Even if we cannot get enough people to donate at least we can say we did it. Our wish is that this first project will be a welcoming start to future developments.

Day 2

Although school hindered many of our actions today we were still able to generate basic layouts for our projects. Through the remainder of this year while we set up for our main event in March we will do minuscule projects. Actions such as book, can, and toy drives. The first drive which is a book drive will begin latest in the next two weeks.
We hope that creating small projects like these will make our communities (specifically teenagers) more aware of the actions they can take to make our world better. Doing small undertakings like this can make a difference. We may be young but the world we live in gives us so many opportunities to make life better for the next person. Maybe it's the technology or the ease of our lifestyles that makes us forget that we can be better. Our generation has been called generation "X" and we need to change that. It took all four of us a lot of effort to stand up and promise "I can do better, I will do better, and I will contribute to society." It may seem daunting to put such weight on your shoulders but once your're carrying it it's as if your whole essence feels ten times lighter. With this weight you are given the feeling that whatever life throws at you, you can throw right back and win. Whether it is wining for your own personal endeavors or for the man standing next to you; you will always have that confidence and assurance. The four of us have made this promise to ourselves and we hope you will see our efforts as a start.

And so it begins...

Here we go guys! This is officially the first, of many, posts that will be created on this blog. Basically, we will be treating this blog as a personal journal, chronicling our journey towards creating our first ever charity function. We will take you inside, the sweat, tears, and many hours of hard work, that will go into the making of this event. As we have stated before, our goal is to give back to our community, by raising money for kids who need it most. We feel that it is our responsibility to show the world what our generation is capable of. By raising money to benefit younger patients in hospitals, we hope to generate a global awareness towards victims of serious illnesses. We feel that the only way to improve the world, is by starting right here in our own community. Although we plan to begin small, we hope that this project will set off a movement that will ultimately change the world for the better. And so it begins....our journey for the greater good.
